English porcelain plate

A striking and decorative English porcelain Regency period plate of circular, lobed shape, the border decorated around with a continuous pattern of gilt palmettes surrounded by gilt hatching. The centre colourfully painted with a vivid display of garden flowers, fruit and foliage together, interestingly, with a naturalistically coloured goldfinch perched among the leaves. The plate unmarked but possibly Coalport.

Please note:  On the odd occasion some colours don't reproduce well against our usual light blue background. For a better idea of the true colours just scroll down to the final couple of images.
