Spode sugar box and cover

An interesting and decorative Regency period Spode sugar box and cover, the cover with cushion finial, the box with moulded and gilded ring handles, the deep brick red ground skilfully painted with panels of bright, multicoloured  butterflies and moths against a white background, highlighted in gilt and set within straight sided gilt framing.

Height: 4  1/2 inches (11.5cm)

Condition: Very good, undamaged and unrestored. Very light wear to high points of the moulded side rings and a small section of the rim from use.
