Pair Chamberlain Worcester plates




A fine pair of Regency period Chamberlain Worcester plates in the 298 pattern, the rich dark blue grounds with intricate gilt detail and oval reserves of red, green, blue and gilt "India work" against a gilt background, the centre with a floral spray. Marked underneath in script "Chamberlain Worcester" and their London shop address, 155 New Bond Street, London.
Chamberlain's 298 pattern became known as the "Yeo" pattern after an extensive service of this design made for Sir James Yeo. Ordered in 1815, it was finally completed in 1819.
