A tastefully decorated Regency period Spode creamer of classical shape with double barred C- scroll moulding, banded around the top with trailing gilt decoration between gilt dentil bands and painted to all sides with colourful bouquets of garden flowers and exotic flying insects. Marked under with pattern number 3496 and a rare Spode Felspar mark in sepia.
Provenance: The Godden Reference Collection. An illustration showing the backstamp of this actual creamer can be seen on page 22 in Geoffrey Godden's " Encyclopaedia of British Porcelain Manufacturers".
