Chamberlain Worcester drum inkwell

A good Chamberlain Worcester drum inkwell of slightly tapered shape, the top with three quill holes, the inkwell itself decorated all round and to the top with the typical Regency period dark blue, red and richly gilt 'Japan' palette of Chamberlain's popular 240 pattern. Marked underneath with pattern number 240.

Date:  Circa 1815.
Height: 2 1/2 inches (6.25 cm.) Width across top: 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good, typical light gilt wear to the top rim otherwise undamaged and unrestored.
