Coalport inkstand

A very good and complete early Victorian Coalport inkstand with elaborate double scrolled handles, the raised and pierced galleries enclosing an integral pen tray, a leaf moulded taperstick and  two removable inkwells and covers, each cover with a flower and leaf finial. The bright apple green ground colourfully  painted with a daffodil, a rose and other spring flowers within a gilded and scrolled cartouche.

Date: Circa 1840.
Width: 12  1/2 inches  (31.5 cm)
Condition: Overall quite lovely with only a small firing 'spit' and an old repair to the rim of one cover.
