Grainger Worcester centrepiece

A fine, decorative and imposing Grainger Worcester centrepiece standing on a frilled, spreading pedestal foot. The split and scrolled handles highlighted in gilt, the bowl with wavy, scrolled borders and both bowl and foot with kidney shaped piercings. The pale primrose yellow ground decorated with trailing gilt detail, leaves, ears of wheat and scenic vignettes within C-scrolled reserves. The centre very well painted with a large pastoral scene of figures in a wooded landscape most likely by John Stinton senior. Unmarked but from a service with pattern number 1476X conforming to the description in the Grainger Worcester pattern books.

Provenance: Formerly the property of  pioneering woman rally driver Lorna Doone Snow.
