English porcelain cup and saucer

A colourful English porcelain cup and saucer of London shape attributed to Rathbone, the cup decorated round the outside with gilt motifs and to the inside, as with the saucer, with gilt patterning and cartouches of pink roses and foliage all against a cobalt blue ground. Marked underneath with a blue V.

Date: Circa 1820
Height: Cup 2  3/4 inches (7 cm)  Width  of saucer 5 5/8 inches (14.25 cm)
Condition: Good and undamaged, a little spitting of the dark blue ground here and there and typical but minimal wear to the well of the saucer and a small area of the cup rim (see photos)
