A fine and rare Regency period Coalport chocolate cup and cover, the cup of tapered shape with gilded kicked loop handles, the cover with gilded ball finial. Both cup and cover with bright lemon yellow grounds well painted with multicoloured bouquets of flowers and foliage, to the cup in a reserved panel within a bold gilt frame and to the cover within a circular gilt border.

Condition: Very good. A small chip inside the footrim professionally colourfilled, a small glazing flaw inside the cup rim confined to the interior only and not extending into the gilt edge, some spots of light wear to the rim from the cover and a few typical minor spits to the yellow ground. The gilding otherwise in excellent condition.
