A rare and unusual Copeland boxed presentation set, the leather covered box silk lined and monogrammed M.S. containing two eggshell porcelain demitasse cups and saucers. Each piece painted with a mass of cream flowers on a ground of blue/green foliage and pink oval reserves of roses all enhanced with the finest raised gilt detail. Both cups initialled CFH for Charles Ferdinand Hürten.

Charles Ferdinand Hürten is widely regarded as the greatest ceramic flower artist of his time. He worked for the Sèvres factory in Paris and then for Copeland in Stoke on Trent from 1858-1897. His signed work is extremely collectable.

Cups: Height: 2.25 in.  6cm.  Saucers:  Width: 4.5 in.  11.5 cm.
Box:  Width: 11.75 in.  30cm. Depth: 6.5 in.  16.5 cm. Height: 2.75 in.  7cm.
Condition: Minor wear to box from age, the contents perfect.
