Spode chamberstick








A colourful Spode Stone China chamberstick with bold "D" shaped handle, the light brown ground with bright royal blue sprigged decoration, the sconce rising from a star shaped design and the base with a continuous band of flower heads and foliage, all within a shark's tooth border. Impressed mark underneath "SPODE"

Date: Circa 1820
Width: 4 inches (10 cm) Height: 1 3/4 inches (4.5 cm)
Condition: Crisp and clean with just some minor retouching to the inside top of the sconce, light damage probably caused by the careless removal of candle stubs.
