'Blue V Factory' chamberstick

An attractive and rare English porcelain chamberstick, well modelled in the shape of a scallop shell with gently curved, gilded handle, the shell motif repeated around the fully gilt sconce and it's base. The rich cobalt blue ground with fine intricate gilding and a reserved cartouche of brightly coloured garden flowers within a gilt border. Marked to the  underside with the underglaze "V" of the mysterious "Blue V factory"

Width: 3  7/8  inches. (9.75 cm) Height: 2 inches (5 cm)

Condition: Very good, undamaged and unrestored. Typical light spots of wear to the rim and high points from use.
